No! We offer a 30-day free trial with no credit card required. You get full access to all features including real-time sync. After the trial, plans start at $10/month for Budget Pro (2 bank connections, 5 accounts) or $20/month for Family (5 connections, 12 accounts, up to 3 users).

If you don't upgrade, your account automatically downgrades - no surprise charges. We stop syncing with Plaid, your rules stop running, and funding schedules don't run. You'll keep your data but the app becomes read-only. You can upgrade anytime to restore full functionality. We'll email you before the trial ends.

Our traffic light system gives you instant spending decisions without math. It's based on your Safe-to-Spend balance: Green (>$500) means you're good to spend, Yellow (>$0) means be careful, and Red (<$0) means stop spending. The thresholds are customizable to fit your needs. It's the only feature like this in any budgeting app.

Slices are our virtual envelopes for different budget categories (groceries, rent, savings goals, etc.). They come in 4 types: Expense tracking, Savings goals, Protected funds (like taxes), and Debt payoff with interest tracking. You can create unlimited slices and automate funding from your paychecks.

We use Plaid webhooks to update your transactions throughout the day, not just once daily like other apps. When you make a purchase, Plaid notifies us as soon as your bank processes it. Sync speed depends on your bank's connection with Plaid—most banks update in seconds or minutes, but some may take a bit longer. This varies by bank: major banks like Chase and Bank of America typically sync within minutes, while smaller banks or credit unions might take 30 minutes to a few hours. Even with these variations, it's still much faster than apps that sync once per day. Your Safe-to-Spend balance and traffic light update immediately when new transactions arrive.

Funding schedules automatically distribute your paychecks to slices when they arrive. Set it up once with percentages or fixed amounts, and it runs forever. Smart detection recognizes paychecks up to 5 days early or 1 day late. You can have different schedules for different income sources.

We use bank-level encryption and connect through Plaid (SOC 2 Type II certified). We have read-only access - we can never move your money or make changes to your accounts. We never sell your data, and if you delete your account, all your data is permanently removed. Your privacy is paramount.

We're web-first and mobile-optimized. The site works perfectly on any device with a browser. A dedicated mobile app is planned for the future, but our progressive web app provides a great mobile experience today. You can even add it to your home screen.

Yes! The Family plan ($20/month) supports up to 3 users sharing a budget. You can see all household finances together while maintaining individual accounts. Perfect for couples who want transparency without sharing bank accounts.
