Cake Budget

About Cake Budget 🍰

A budgeting app that works with your brain, not against it.

Hi there! I'm Fisher. 👋🏾

I'm the solo developer behind Cake Budget. As someone who is diagnosed with bipolar 2 and is neurodivergent, I've experienced firsthand how challenging financial management can be when your brain works a bit differently.

During manic episodes, I'd make impulsive purchases that I'd later regret. During depressive phases, I'd avoid looking at my finances altogether. Traditional budgeting advice assumes a neurotypical brain that makes consistent, rational financial decisions - but that's not how my brain works.

So I built Cake Budget - a financial tool that sort of adapts to your mental state, provides gentle guardrails during impulsive periods, and makes managing money actually enjoyable. What started as a personal project has grown into something I'm excited to share with others who might benefit from a different approach to budgeting.

You can reach me via email or LinkedIn or Twitter if you'd like to chat.
