Why I Built This
Hi, I'm Fisher. I have bipolar 2, and I built Cake Budget because every other budgeting app made me feel broken.
During hypomanic episodes, I'd buy things impulsively - that dopamine hit from "treating myself" was irresistible. During depressive episodes, I couldn't even open my banking app without spiraling.
Traditional budgeting advice like "just track every expense" or "review your budget weekly" assumes executive function that I simply don't always have. And that's okay.
